We couldn’t be happier, nor more proud to have collaborated in fulfilling the dream of an entire town represented in the fans of the soccer team, Atlético Maribáñez, protagonist of the sports docu-reality of Cuatro, ‘Maribáñez, the worst team in the world’.

Why Do We Recommend the Use of Silica Sand in a Sports Artificial Turf Installation?
- Protects the fiber. Wrapping the fibers with sand gives it greater durability as it helps stabilize the base of the yarn, facilitating the recovery of its natural shape after being stepped on.
- Provides greater comfort. Reduces the impact when performing any activity.
- Thermal insulation. By covering the base of the artificial turf, it protects it from UV rays, helps to maintain a more stable temperature, especially when it gets wet, as it retains moisture longer, and therefore the feeling of freshness.

The silica sand filling (lower load) is used to weigh down the artificial turf with sufficient weight, since, being a floating pavement, it needs weight to remain in its original conditions. In addition, the sand layer also has the purpose of protecting the glued joints of the field. This load does not need to be replaced throughout the life of the field, as it usually remains constant, except in specific cases.
The upper load, SBR rubber, which is the elastic one, has, in addition to the function of providing cushioning to the artificial turf, the task of keeping the fibers in their upright position, for which it must always remain at an adequate level.
This layer of filling can suffer variations in its level, as it is a less dense material and is exposed to environmental factors. Due to use, rain, winds, etc., the elastic filling layer can decrease, reducing its cushioning capacity and leaving the fiber exposed to greater wear. Therefore, it is advisable to replace it from time to time.
