If you made the smart decision to install artificial turf in your home, we congratulate you because, without a doubt, it is an excellent way to have beautiful spaces with a touch of nature, while saving you a lot of work when it comes to caring for and maintaining it.

However, even though it requires minimal care, there are certain aspects that you should keep in mind to keep the artificial turf in perfect condition, so that your spaces look sensational at all times.

Maintaining Artificial Turf

It is essential that you keep in mind that artificial turf is a synthetic product, which translates into certain care measures to keep it in good condition as on the first day you installed it.

  1. The number one and fundamental aspect is cleanliness, since to maintain artificial turf it is necessary to keep it free of dust, dirt and bacteria that accumulate. At least once a week, take the hose and clean your lawn with water; if you wish, you can apply soap to make sure everything is 100% clean.
  2. To prevent and counteract the formation of holes or filling failures, what you should do is brush the fibers against the grain so that the silica sand disperses evenly and your lawn looks even. Once or twice a year, refill to keep the fibers vertical.
  3. Use a rake to remove dry leaves and branches from your lawn. This step is more directed towards aesthetics.
  4. The amount of watering will depend on the time of year, for this reason in summer you should water more often to keep the environment cooler, as this helps your lawn stay in perfect condition. While in winter it is better not to water, as the ice can damage it.
  5. It is important that from time to time you take a herbicide, spray it and dilute it with water, to proceed to clean with this solution. This way you will keep your lawn free of germs and bugs.
  6. It is preferable that you do not spill foreign liquids on your lawn, but if it happens, you should simply act quickly and use a towel, and then dissolve them with water.
  7. To remove chewing gum, rub ice to harden it and remove it easily.
  8. The lawn is not flammable, but fire can melt it, so be careful when barbecuing, consuming cigarettes or using fireworks.

Other Lawn Cleaning Options
