Artificial Turf Requires Minimal Care
One of the great advantages of artificial turf is that it requires minimal care. For this reason, we want to give you a series of tips so that the turf is maintained in optimal conditions for its use, and also, to extend its useful life.
Tips for Caring for your Turf
The tips that we recommend you follow so that the care is effective, especially in the summer with the heat, are the following:
- Although the turf can withstand not being watered, we recommend that you do it every 15 or 20 days. You can water with a hose for a few seconds, this will help you remove the dust that may have accumulated during the previous months and that the environment is effectively refreshed.
- In artificial turf installed on soil, it is very likely that some weeds will grow. So you have two options: pull them out by hand, or apply a
specific herbicide treatment . This last option also serves to solve the proliferation of insects by having pollen in the environment. - In the event that the turf gets dirty with food or your pet’s needs, don’t worry because there is a solution for everything. The first thing you have to do is use a scoop to remove most of the dirt. Then apply plenty of water, use a soapy cleaner, brush vigorously and rinse again with water. Nothing happened here!
- In areas of very frequent passage it is likely that some verticality will be lost as the years go by. So the best way to recover that verticality is to fill with silica sand and carry out a backcomb.
